Frequently Asked Questions

The cruises are up to 10 people, can more people join?

In our experience, the boat is most comfortable up to and including 10 people (and the skipper). Exceptionally, 12 passengers can board; it is up to you to decide if you are comfortable with that. Due to legal requirements, no more than 12 people are allowed on board.

Are children allowed?

For safety reasons, only children who have a swimming certificate are allowed on board. Experience also shows that the cruise is especially fun for children who can sit somewhat quietly for longer periods. Our advice is not to take children under 12 (but they are always welcome under that age if they have a swimming certificate!).

What are the payment and cancellation terms?

After your booking you will receive an email from us with a confirmation and all necessary information. The cost of the cruise must be paid at least 14 days before the cruise takes place. You can cancel free of charge up to 7 days before the scheduled canal cruise.

Should the weather forecast in the days before your booking turn out to be very bad, we will discuss with you whether the tour can go ahead. If the tour cannot take place due to bad weather we will refund the amount you paid. Or we move the tour to another date.

Is there a toilet on board?

No, unfortunately not. During the O'Really Tour we stop halfway, there are toilets there. And in case of really high need we will always find a solution. During the free sailing tour you decide where we stop, but of course only in places where we are allowed to moor.

Can I bring my own food and drink?

Yes! There are plates, cutlery, mugs and water/wine glasses on board. We also have 2 cooler bags, but that capacity is somewhat limited. You are not allowed to BBQ or otherwise prepare or heat food/drinks on board.

Can Captain O'Really Cruises also provide catering?

Unfortunately, we do not yet offer catering. During the O'Really Tour we stop halfway, then you can have a drink. On a free sailing, you decide where to stop for a drink and/or snack. Furthermore, there is a supermarket across from the embarkation point for last minute shopping, more information can be found here.

Is smoking allowed on board?

Yes. Ashtrays are available.

Is amplified music allowed on board?

No, amplified music on board is not allowed by the municipality of Utrecht.

What do we do with the waste?

There are garbage bags on board, we will make sure the garbage is disposed of. We do expect you to clean up any possible rubbish on board yourself.
